DAY 4 - friday
SOUND AND COLOR GRADING
SOUND WORKFLOW - The Cutting Edge
With no two projects being alike, it is vital to create a bespoke workflow and find individual solutions for every show. Joining the dots of the whole sound pro- cess from pre-production through to mix and delivery has both creative and budgetary benefits.
This session will identify how to establish important communication across departments and make the most of all opportunities for sound throughout the film-making process.
We’ll be looking into the various roles within a sound editorial team, pro-active schedule and budget planning and how to make the best use of resources to deliver a first-rate soundtrack.
FRIDAY, OCT 25. 11:45 - 13:00
Nina Hartstone, United Kingdom
DIGITAL WORKFLOWS 3
From Picture Lock to Final Grade
The transition from the picture lock to the final stage of image post-production is driven by the conforming process. From there, the colorist takes over in the search for the final look, bridging the gap between the technical and the creative sides, while managing the human aspect of the "therapy session" that grading really is.
Petra Lisson will highlight the role of the producer and post supervisor in the grading process and how they can and should be involved.
FRIDAY, OCT 25. 14:00 - 15:00
Juan Galva, Spain / Germany
VISUAL DEVELOPMENT
Creating the look and feel of a movie starts not only in grading - it starts way before the shoot, with all departments collaborating very early in the process.
Edmond Laccon will give examples of different films and explain how the concept for the look was a deliberate decision between HODs prior to the shoot.
FRIDAY, OCT 25. 17:15 - 18:15
